"Changing the World, One Hand-Walk at a Time "
Through his signature hand-walks, he’s raised awareness, inspired communities, and sparked global conversations around inclusion, resilience, and , every step on his hands carries a deeper message.
In 2017, Ashwin Kalyandurg, a fourth-year medical student at Nova Southeastern University, set out to do something extraordinary — raise awareness for important causes through the power of determination and creativity.
Ashwin is best known for his incredible endurance feats — walking over 3.2 miles on his hands in under 8 hours. This unofficial world-record attempt was not just a physical challenge but a way to raise funds and awareness for causes like:
• Autism
• Multiple Sclerosis
• Veteran amputees
• Pediatric cancer
• Childhood obesity
He later pushed his limits even further, completing 3.78 miles on his hands, a testament to his drive and commitment.
Ashwin believed that getting his story to Ellen’s platform could help inspire others to get involved and support charitable causes. His message was simple: with creativity, passion, and a bit of upside-down thinking, we can all make a difference.
